Sowing my seeds with Martha…Day 37

7 Feb

Who knew that in only 37 short days I would be the type of girl who would get out of bed in the morning excited to go to the gym before coming home to plant a vegetable garden, all prior to starting a day of work!

Well…I am still not quite that girl….

I am not so much “excited” about going to the gym as I am willing (though not so willing this morning. I slept in and replaced the cardio with a good run in the yard with the dog). “Trainer” part of today’s calendar – mini fail.

And I definitely enlisted some early morning help on the garden because I knew I would just sleep in and then end up posting tonight that I ate some vegetables or something instead of actually planting them.

But since I bought the gardening stuff and today Martha’s calendar said “Start sowing broccoli and cabbage seeds”, I figured we should just do this, and so we gardened:

Empty pots ready for our filling (sounds dirty, lol)

Thanks to a tip from Heather, one of my awesome readers and friends, I think I have a good mix!

Enough of the pretty pics, time to get messy!

Final step. Now we wait....

Kind of cool that in a month (maybe? I actually forgot to read the seed packets so their growth will be a surprise) we could be eating a salad of our own veggies.

I can dig it, Martha. Pun totally intended.
